2-Year-Old Is Swept Away By Worship Song

I’m an agreeable person, but when my favorite song comes on, don’t take me away! Can’t we talk about it later? If I’m feeling the music, and look wrapped up in the lyrics, swaying side to side and appear to be in another world, clearly enjoying the moment I’ve found myself in, leave a message and I’ll get back to you! I’ve always loved and respected the power of music. There’s something magical about it, and how it’s able to transport its listeners to a distant place of beauty and peace. It’s an escape. A freedom. A way to get out of your everyday.

I see a piece of myself in this precious little girl who is so taken by the music and the beauty of the song; I can’t help but laugh but also give her a high five
Izzy is two years old, and she’s in the kitchen of her family’s home having a moment with Chris Tomlin’s song “Our God,” a #1 hit single that’s gained notoriety in the Christian Rock category. Mom’s put it on for her, and Izzy is just on another level, and even in a different world. The video opens to the sweet little girl wearing her pink pajamas with her eyes closed and one arm up in the air. Her head is tilted back, and she has left the kitchen

The tiny girl slowly moves her legs, moving her feet, as the other arm is raised and she is completely moved by the song. The guitar builds power and speed, creating momentum to raise and uplift. Izzy is doing her best to mouth the words, and while we can’t see mom’s face, I can only imagine how she just loves watching her daughter in this moment. Mom was quick to grab the camera and make sure she got all of this recorded, and we’re so glad she did!

Just before the main vocals come back in, mom says, “Izzy… Izzy!” totally breaking the little girl’s spell. Izzy takes a second to register before she returns to the kitchen, gives her head a shake and flashes mom a huge smile – arms still in the air! She drops them down, and now both mom and daughter are singing. It’s just all so adorable! This is such a cute shared moment in worship, and mom got to witness the whole thing.
